"Don't fight darkness. Bring the light and darkness will disappear"
      - Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

Ayurvedic Practitioner

I completed an Advanced Diploma of Ayurveda through the Australasian Institute of Ayurvedic Studies under Dr Ajit. I am a qualified Ayurvedic Practitioner and a member of the International Council of Ayurvedic Medicine (ICAM). I've been a Registered Nurse for 16 years.  My experience and education in both Eastern and Western medicine has given me a unique understanding of the benefits that can be experienced when modern science and technology is combined with a  traditional approach such as Ayurveda. I believe this to be especially relevant in regards to diet and lifestyle and in the management and prevention of chonic disease.  I am passionate about empowering my clients and providing them with the knowledge and tools that will allow them to regain their natural state of health and well-being as well as harness their bodies own healing mechanisms.

Emma Burrell - Ayu Mind and Body

Originating in India and translating to "The Science of Life", Ayurveda is based around the principle that there are three biological forces within nature – Vata, Pitta and Kapha, known in the body as the three Doshas. The Doshas govern all aspects of the mind and body, and fluctuate in response to the conditions in our immediate environment, including the rhythms and cycles of nature. The Doshas also fluctuate in response to the foods that we eat, and the impressions we take in through the senses. It is the equilibrium of the Doshas that is vital in maintaining health and preventing disease. Only when we are in a balanced state can we harness our bodies natural intelligence to prevent diseases of the mind and body, and experience health at its fullest potential.
